Speaking up


Despite our efforts to maintain the highest standards of ethics and compliance, sometimes things do go wrong. When they do, it is important that this is brought to our attention so we can deal with it properly and prevent it from happening again.

We therefore encourage a culture of Speaking Up in which we ask all our employees, workers and business partners to report issues of concern.

As part of encouraging Speaking Up, Dowlais operates a Group-wide whistleblowing platform that is overseen by the Audit Committee, supported by the Dowlais senior management team and ultimately reported to the Board. The platform is monitored by our businesses' legal, compliance and HR functions, with support from the Dowlais senior management team.

All our employees have access to a multilingual online portal, together with local hotline numbers that are available 24/7, in order to raise concerns, confidentially and anonymously, about possible wrong-doing in any aspect of their business, including financial and non-financial matters.

Actions are taken to raise employees’ awareness of the whistleblowing platform, using online and offline media as appropriate. Employees who come forward with a genuine concern are treated with respect and dignity, and will not face retaliation.
